C.C. Woodson Community Center & Playground
Opened in 2009, the C.C. Woodson Community Center has served a critical role in the ongoing revitalization of the City’s Southside. With an expert staff of parks and recreation professionals, C.C. Woodson offers programming year-round. Inside the facility C.C. Woodson offers a basketball gym, community room, learning center, senior lounge, teen center, and health & wellness room. Outside the center, you will find an outdoor swimming pool, a multipurpose field, and a playground suited for the 5-12 age range.
This airport themed park is located in front of the Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport with views of airplanes taking off and landing. This park contains an air traffic controller tower themed playground, a splash pad, a multipurpose field, walking trail and picnic shelters.
Play on Main at Denny’s
This new playground is located in the heart on downtown! This modern city design is the first in South Carolina. The playground is the official home of Meeting Street Academy. As a joint use playground with Spartanburg School District 7, this place is open to the public when Meeting Street Academy is not in session. It is also currently open to thepublic on weekends and will open during the week after June 3rd.
